This is from a recent bird exclusion netting we did at a waste treatment facility (garbage dump). Besides the netting, we also installed bird spikes to keep the pigeons from nesting above the loading bay doors.

Canada Geese Problem - Removal, Nest Prevention
Note: Canada Geese are a native bird and protected species. The geese cannot be killed, trapped or harassed. However, it is legal to use preventative measures to stop geese from roosting and nesting on your property. Broadway Plaza on West Broadway, Vancouver, suffered bird problems from two species: Canada Geese and pigeons. Case Study Part 1: Canada Geese Problem: A pair of Canada geese were nesting and raising a brood of chicks on top of Broadway Plaza's elevator tower. The tower was in the centre of the inside plaza (see photo). The Canada geese started in March and stayed until June before the goose family left. The steady bird mess and harassment to tenants was often unbearable. Solution: Netting to prevent geese landing, perching and nesting. Late August, after the geese left the nest on the elevator tower, we removed the nest and cleaned the surrounding area. We first installed a perimeter cable on the tower top. Then we mounted the bird control net to the perimeter cable. We also installed a small mast to keep the net tight and high in the centre (like a tent). The Broadway Plaza management is happy. It has been two years and the geese have not returned! Netting is a humane and almost invisible method to prevent Canada geese from nesting, perching and congregating on your building.
